One of my negative beliefs was that sex and women’s sexuality are for men. 

I am not exactly sure when I found my father’s adult magazines and porn. It was in middle school because I don’t remember being left home alone before that. My Dad used to travel a lot for work and I found them in his garment bag. 

I used to sneak and look at them when I was home alone. 

I would get turned on reading the stories and looking at the naked bodies. 

Then I would masturbate, start feeling overwhelmed with guilt, and pray for forgiveness.

I never had the birds and bees talk with my parents. We had a book discussing parts of the body and how things worked.

The only conversation we had was that sex before marriage was sin and my mother kept a close eye on me all of high school to make sure I didn’t fall “prey” to any teenage boys. 

I found an old belief lodged in my womb: that men use love to get sex and women use sex to get love.  This course helped me release this lie.  Sex and pleasure are for every person involved.

I think I mentioned before that my Dad is a photographer. He took this picture below but I was afraid to tell him I was pregnant before my husband and I got married even though I was already engaged. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Reflection of Diva Deep Dive Meditation from yesterday.

Thanks, Kenya, for my new mantra: “My sexuality is my beauty. I am beautiful”.

I saw Kenya demonstrate the Diva Deep Dive meditation last night.  Taking today off from work, I chose to sit on my bed with a sexy negligee top on while I practiced the meditation. I now feel marvelous and still wearing my top as I write this.

I released feeling inadequate and ashamed to want what I want and be who I desire. That seemed to blend in with my social and religious pot where I released the stigma of other people’s thoughts, opinions, and ideologies. I released those words that have made me feel bad about myself and my body. I went in here. It felt like a demon was inside needing to come out.

‘How dare people tell me I am not good enough!! How dare people tell me because I am a woman I am to be contained!’

I love myself for surviving. I am loving myself for feeling even just a little of my own chi through the nonsense of my youth. Many have not. Many have succumbed to peer pressure and self-doubt. Many have self-medicated and released themselves from this existence. This is disturbing. I released that shit. I am looking forward to continuing the process as I know there is more.
